Takes on the overall supervision and overview of the
happenings in DB.NL. All (coordinators of) topical groups
and project groups will keep the Board Members informed
of their progress and activities, in order for the Board
Members to keep the complete overview of DB.NL and to in turn
distribute all relevant information through the list.
Coordinators (see below) are accountable and responsible
for keeping the topical and project groups going.
They will collect groups of interested members who seek
information or perform specific tasks, chase them up, make
sure deadlines are kept, and keep the Founding Members
informed of their activities.

SPOKESMEN
Hein van Meeteren is
representing DB.NL to the outside world (on symposia,
to the press, etc.)
WEB-MANAGEMENT & NET-PRESENCE
This team manages and expands the Web page for DB.NL and is
responsible for managing the mailing lists, database in Access
of DB.NL, establishment of new moderated DB.NL agenda/announcement list,
the db.nl-domain, expanding all other net infrastructure of DB.NL.

INFORMATION PROVISION
E-mail watch dog Arie Dirkzwager keeps
overview of the for DB.NL interesting (electronic) sources
(mailinglists, newsgroups and electronics magazines) and
distribution of these to the members who wish them; he is
responsible for short extracts to the db-nl boardmembers of important current
discussions/decisions elsewehere in the world.

Exercises influence in the area of regulations on privacy and freedom of
expression. This also concerns 'ban on cryptography' and 'data banks with
personal details'. Suggestion on what else could be part of this are welcome.
TRANSLATION GROUP

Maintains the English-language Web page in tune with the
changes in the Dutch version.
PROJECT GROUP EUROPE CONFERENCE

DB.NL will organise a Pan-European conference of all national
digital citizen movements in Europe plus the EFF and CPSR.
The intention is to do this in cooperation with IPP, the
Institute for Public and Politics, of which Marcel is
project member, assuming enough subsidy can be found.
The Founder Members will come with a plan. All ideas and
brainstormers welcome!
PROJECT GROUP NATIONAL ACTION PLAN

DB.NL either writes their own National Action Plan Digital
Highway or finds out who writes the real one and co-writes
that one or co-brainstorms. Must be finished before the

PROJECT GROUP SOCIAL DEBATE INFO TECHOLOGY

Marcel writes a book on the social consequences of information
technology for the Institute for Public and Politics (a co-
production with the Netherlands Library and Literature Centre
NBLC). The intention is for the presentation of the book to be
the trigger for a broad social discussion on information
technology, in cooperation with the Foundation for Public
information on Science and Technology (PWT). The idea is
the have DB.NL being asked to take care of the information
technological (Internet) part of the debate. Everything depends
on finding the required funds. All ideas and brainstormers welcome!
GROUP DIGITAL COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL OWNERSHIP

Intention is to produce a considered paper on the pros/cons of
free information flow versus economical interest of paid
copyrights on the Net, so that DB.NL can take a balanced
position as improvement/supplement to the relevent paragraphs
in the Manifesto before the end of the year.
