Many organisations dedicated to the rights of citizens in the information society also exist in- and outside of The Netherlands.

CommunITe

Since November '94, there is another association besides DB.NL which concerns itself with social aspects of information technology: CommunITe. This association, founded by scientists and government administrators, calls for a National Debate on information and communications technology. During a congres of the RCC group they announced their manifesto [NL].

Civil liberties movements in the USA

The digital civil liberties have been a concern for a while in the USA. Two organisations leading the way are: Among other matters, these organisations concern themselves with the Clipper chip and the export ban on cryptography from the US.
